Two years ago, on a warm, summer’s day like today, the smell of fish was in the air. Today it is replaced by a faint, delicate aroma of freshly roasted coffee. We know what our neighbours say they prefer!
This month marks the second birthday for Pallet Coffee Roasters being celebrated by a summer BBQ on-site with our partners and customers off the back of the launch of our exciting new upstairs tasting room and newest product, Pallet cold brew.
Two years ago we were humbled to open our doors to our East Vancouver neighbours. Today we’re busy shipping Pallet coffee to partnering cafes across Vancouver and up the Sunshine Coast, as well as to customers throughout the U.S.
Looking inside the Pallet roastery, you could barely recognize what once housed fish, a whole lot of ice and some pretty durable rubber boots.
Unknown to many, the Pallet café interior was partly hand-built by Manager, Shane Dehkhodaei including many favourite elements such as the industrial wood accents and warm Edison-bulb lighting.
Two years on, and now with a community stretching well beyond the East Vancouver precinct, Pallet is still committed to contributing to the community of specialty coffee.
The vision of providing full transparency of Pallet’s product is apparent and customers can view Ben Rugg roasting this week’s coffee and café staff preparing fresh-to-order sandwiches and salads in the commercial kitchen.
The recently launched upstairs tasting room is open to the public every Saturday serving unique coffee not yet available in the cafe! Come by from 10am to 2pm and receive free samples and an informative tasting experience from our top baristas. The tasting room will also serve as the hub for Pallet’s Coffee Club, launching this fall, hosting an array of workshops and special events to further inspire the growth of specialty coffee.
A big thank you to all those who have supported our journey. Happy Birthday Pallet, here’s to many more!
