The Story

The Karana community is made up of smallholder farmers in the Kintamani region of Bali. growing coffee at around 1,200 metres elevation across 477 hectares. The group grows S795 and Kartika varieties and uses a wide range of processing methods to create vibrant and diverse flavour profiles. 

Sustainability is central to Karana’s ethos. The farmers avoid chemical sprays, use compost, and plant shade trees to maintain ecological balance. A new cooperative dry mil funded by private support helps ensure consistent, high- quality processing.
